We are a warm and approachable consultancy, committed to being flexible and responsive to your needs. Drawing on our extensive experience across various fundraising sectors, Good Fundraising – based in Yorkshire and supporting charities across the UK – has a strong record of success in all forms of fundraising. Collaborating closely with trustees, leadership teams, volunteers, and beneficiaries, we work with our clients to develop tailored strategies that help them achieve their goals. Our successes range from securing salaries for staff members and refurbishing community centres to managing multi-million-pound capital projects – no endeavour is too big or too small.
Catherine Longley – Director
For over 25 years Cath has successfully raised funds for national, regional and local charities of all sizes in a variety of different fields, throughout the UK. A fully certified member of the Institute of Fundraising with a Diploma in Fundraising, Catherine also holds Masters Degrees in both Charity Resource Management and Museums Studies. In her spare time Catherine Volunteers as Chair of Prosper, a grant-maker and as trustee at the Howlands, a small local charity in Dewsbury that uses art as a medium to develop skills and confidence whilst creating opportunities to meet others and develop peer support. When not in work Cath can be found exploring the countryside and the coast with her family.
Gillian Thorpe – Charity Management Lead
Gillian joined Good Fundraising with extensive experience in financial services and a passion for supporting charities. Predominantly specialising in funding applications, charity administration and social media communications, Gillian has the ability to tackle any task and is a great asset to the team. In her spare time, Gillian loves to visit heritage sites all over the country with her family and also fundraises for a local football team.
Tracey Mearns – Corporate Lead
Tracey has a passion for all things fundraising and has over 18 years of fundraising experience both as a volunteer and in a professional capacity. With a background in account management, marketing and building corporate partnerships in both the private and charity sector, Tracey knows first-hand, the challenges in raising income to meet charitable objectives. When she’s not watching her son play rugby, she enjoys long distance walking challenges to raise funds for various local and regional charities.
Catherine Storey – Bid-Writing Lead
Cath is a purpose led individual who has worked with charities and community groups supporting organisations to unlock funding, provide hope, and make a difference in their communities. Catherine is an experienced fundraiser with post graduate marketing status (CIM) and has experience of fundraising for heritage projects, disability, youth, poverty, family support services and Christian organisations. Cath has joined the team as an experienced bid writer and when not crafting funding applications, she enjoys spending time with her family and the great outdoors; she loves to cycle, paddleboard, wild swim and climb big hills.
Lily Farrar – Fundraising Apprentice
Lily joined as a fundraising apprentice with the hope of developing her skills in supporting both companies and charities in making a meaningful impact in the community. She is passionate about finding innovative ways to support the causes and businesses she believes in. She enjoys working on creative projects, particularly within fundraising campaigns, corporate partnerships, and community outreach, and is eager to learn and contribute to the team’s efforts. At home, Lily enjoys spending her time reading, exploring nature, and discovering new hobbies.
Scruff ‘n’ Bex – Head of Wellbeing and Resilience
Fundraising can be tough and we all need to build our resilience to deal with the ups, downs and rejections that are just par for the course. Here at Good Fundraising, Scruff and Bex our faithful and cute office dogs take the lead on wellbeing and resilience. They make sure that we all take regular breaks to play fetch and ensure that we get regular fresh air when walking them, whatever the weather!
