Wakefield Street Kitchen

Wakefield Street Kitchen (WSK) is a community-led initiative providing nutritious meals and essential support to people experiencing food insecurity in the Wakefield district. Their Feeding the Community scheme feeds without judgement providing a weekly street kitchen serving 50 people and also preparing 50+ food parcels per week. They are one of the few organisations that don’t charge and who haven’t adopted a small charge pantry model. WSK also feed up to 150 local people through their meals on wheels and responsive pop-up street kitchens in various locations. As a charity they also assist people who’ve been rehomed with essential items, e.g. clothing, cleaning products, sheets, etc.

Good Fundraising has supported Wakefield Street Kitchen by  securing funds from the National Lottery Community Fund to ensure the sustainability of the project.
