Wakefield District Community Anchor Network

The Community Anchor Network (CAN) in Wakefield brings together local organisations that work to meet the needs of their communities, particularly those affected by health inequalities. Community Anchors are trusted, established, and community-led, often supported by local volunteers. They directly deliver services and provide a base for other groups and service providers, including Citizens Advice, Leeds Credit Union, food pantries, and food banks. Anchors are dynamic, evolving to respond to the changing needs of their communities.

Good Fundraising is working with CAN to develop fundraising strategies and diversify income across the network and its individual members. This includes researching funding opportunities, creating a funding pipeline, preparing grant applications, and reviewing existing business planning and strategy. The aim is to identify opportunities to increase income and develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy that can be implemented across the network.
