The Oulton Institute
The Oulton Institute is a vibrant community hub in the heart of the village, offering a welcoming space for people of all ages to connect and unwind. It comes alive with activities like Pilates, craft afternoons, salsa dancing, and choir practices. Younger residents can enjoy ballet lessons, theatre school, and play sessions, while weekly tea dances and coffee mornings foster social interaction. With modernised facilities, including refurbished office suites and flexible rooms for hire, the Institute blends historic charm with a contemporary atmosphere. Run by a volunteer committee as a charitable trust, it remains a cherished space for villagers to meet, dance, and mingle.
The Oulton Institute houses a much-loved and well used community hall which was sadly falling into disrepair. After consultation with users, potential users and local residents, Good Fundraising embarked upon a programme of applications to Trusts and Foundations – including landfill tax funders – and were able to raise the funds required to fix the roof, heating, windows, staging and flooring.
