Fundraising in Motion
It’s been a busy few months here at Good Fundraising, and we’re excited to share what we’ve been up to! From inspiring conferences to heartwarming fundraising events and strategy days, our team has been hard at work – and having plenty of fun along the way.
Museums Association Conference
Our Director, Cath, headed to Wales to attend the Museums Association Conference at the beautiful St Fagans National Museum of History. Cath shared her “10 Tips for Fundraising Success,” offering practical insights to help museums strengthen their fundraising impact. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with museum professionals from across the UK, all passionate about creating sustainable futures for their organisations.
Good Fundraising Strategy Day
This year’s Good Fundraising Strategy Day took us to the National Coal Mining Museum – the perfect setting for a day of reflection, collaboration, and inspiration.
We spent the day exploring our strengths, challenges, and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. In between strategy sessions, we ventured into the museum’s brand-new Time Tunnel, hard hats and all, to travel through the rich history of coal mining.
And of course, we couldn’t leave without meeting Aladdin, the museum’s adorable new Shire foal at the Pony Discovery Centre!
Sunset Stroll
Our Corporate Lead, Tracey, laced up her walking shoes to join the Sunset Stroll in support of The Prince of Wales Hospice.
It was a moving and joyful evening walking in memory of loved ones, with participants completing 6- or 11-mile routes (including some very impressive little ones – and dogs!).
A huge well done to everyone who took part, and a heartfelt thank you to the fundraising team and volunteers who made the event possible. Your efforts truly light the way.
Training with Leeds Museums and Galleries
We were delighted to deliver fundraising training with the brilliant team at Leeds Museums and Galleries.
Our key message: everyone is a fundraiser. From front-of-house staff to curators, every interaction is an opportunity to build relationships and support. It was wonderful to see the team embrace this mindset and explore how fundraising can weave through every part of their work. We’re looking forward to upcoming training at Sheffield Museums and continuing our work with Hull Museums and Leicester Museums.
Flexible Working in Action
At Good Fundraising, we believe that flexibility helps our team do their best work – wherever they are.
Cath recently spent some time working from Wales, proving that impact isn’t tied to a single location. With the right tools, communication, and trust, great fundraising can happen anywhere.
Supporting Corporate Fundraising Initiatives
Over the past few months, we’ve been thrilled to support The Prince of Wales Hospice and their fantastic Fundraising Partnerships Team.
Together, we’ve been developing new skills, exploring fresh engagement ideas, and strengthening their corporate fundraising initiatives. It’s been inspiring to see their enthusiasm and openness to learning – and we can’t wait to watch their plans come to life.
Light Up Event
We had a fabulous time at the Light Up Event at the National Coal Mining Museum for England. It was wonderful to see so many people taking part in the parade and celebrating together.
Huge well done to everyone involved in organising such a joyful community moment.
Wakefield Business Awards
Cath and Tracey enjoyed an inspiring evening at the Wakefield Business Awards at Tileyard North. With brilliant entertainment, delicious food, and standout performances, it was a fantastic celebration of local success.
A special shoutout to Tracey, who returned as a judge for the 4th year running. Congratulations to all the award winners and to Claire Sutherley and her team for delivering such a vibrant event.
The Business Builder Challenge
Tracey also took part in the Business Builder Challenge run by The Prince of Wales Hospice, supporting Year 9 students at Carleton High School as they pitched creative fundraising business ideas.
She’ll be mentoring ‘The Bakers’ – a team producing festive sweet treats to raise funds for the Hospice. We can’t wait to see their ideas come to life!
