Leeds Museums and Galleries
Leeds Museums and Galleries is a diverse family of heritage sites, including museums, country house estates, and a flagship art gallery. Established in 1821, it is the largest local authority-run museum service in England, housing one of the UK’s most significant multidisciplinary collections. Dedicated to collecting, preserving, and interpreting historic, cultural, and scientific artifacts, Leeds Museums and Galleries aims to educate, entertain, and inspire the people of Leeds and beyond. By maintaining its sites and offering high-quality visitor attractions, it creates unique learning environments that enrich the region’s cultural landscape.
Good Fundraising undertook a major fundraising review for Leeds Museums and Galleries, considering the potential for fundraising across all its specific sites as well as within the context of a museum service as a whole. The review directly influenced the decision to establish a Development Trust that has since been established to raise much-needed funds for the sites.
