Hull Museums and Galleries
Hull Museums and Galleries oversees eight major cultural venues across the city, including Ferens Art Gallery, Wilberforce House and the Streetlife Museum, preserving and celebrating Hull’s art, history and heritage for local communities and visitors.
In 2027, Ferens Art Gallery will mark its 100th anniversary, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of Hull’s City of Culture. Home to one of the UK’s finest art collections, the Gallery is a cultural landmark in the heart of Hull. These milestones present a major opportunity to attract new support and investment, helping to secure a sustainable future for Hull’s museums and galleries.
Good Fundraising is conducting a comprehensive fundraising review across Hull Museums and Galleries, working with stakeholders to identify opportunities for philanthropy, corporate partnerships, and other income streams. This work will support exhibitions, public programmes, education initiatives, and long-term sustainability. Focusing on Ferens Art Gallery, we are developing a robust strategy to maximise the potential of its 100th anniversary. The plan aims to grow philanthropy and corporate support, strengthen partnerships with groups such as the Friends of Ferens Gallery, and create a lasting legacy beyond 2027. It will also support future programming, youth engagement, acquisitions and commissions, and potential capital improvements.
