Small Charity Week: Big Impact in Barnsley

By Good Fundraising

Small Charity Week is a chance to recognise the organisations that quietly keep communities going. We’re proud to work with Barnsley Museums & Heritage Trust, supporting them since 2017 to strengthen fundraising, governance, and long-term sustainability.

At Good Fundraising, we provide hands-on support across the charity’s fundraising and operations. That includes trust and foundation applications, managing funded projects, reporting on outcomes, supporting trustee recruitment and governance, and leading on marketing and communications. In short, we help keep it running smoothly behind the scenes so the Trust can focus on what matters most, delivering heritage, learning, and community engagement across Barnsley by raising money for Barnsley Museums.

Over the years, this work has helped deliver real, measurable impact:

Behind every figure is something more meaningful: a piece of history preserved, a space brought back into use, or someone stepping into volunteering for the first time.

Alongside this, we’ve helped strengthen the Trust’s long-term resilience. With the right structures and strategic support in place, Barnsley Museums & Heritage Trust has been able to grow its fundraising capacity and increase investment into its work year on year.

At Good Fundraising, we’re proud to stand alongside small charities like this. Their work often happens quietly, but the impact is felt everywhere, in stronger communities, richer heritage, and more opportunities for people to connect with the places they call home.
