A Spring Break in the Scottish Highlands
Our Corporate Lead, Tracey, recently took a short break to visit Loch Lomond, Glencoe and the Isle of Skye, stepping away from the pace of day-to-day work and making the most of a few days in a very different setting.
The trip began at Loch Lomond, with a stop in the village of Luss and an overnight stay at Loch Lomond Arms Hotel. It provided a straightforward starting point, with time to explore the area and visit the local distillery before continuing further north.
Travelling through Glencoe marked a clear shift in landscape. Known for its scale and distinctive setting, it’s a part of the journey that encourages you to slow down and take things in, offering a contrast to more familiar surroundings.
On the Isle of Skye, Tracey stayed on the Sleat Peninsula, using Kinloch Lodge as a base for three nights. Time here focused on getting outdoors, walking nearby routes and taking a step back from routine, alongside relaxed evenings and a chance to properly switch off.
Further time was spent in Portree, offering a different pace, as well as a walk up to the Old Man of Storr. With good conditions and fewer visitors than peak season, it was a clear highlight of the trip.
Before heading home, a stop at Eilean Iarmain provided a final opportunity to pause and round off the visit.
Taking time away like this, even briefly, allows space to reset, gain perspective and return with renewed focus, something that plays an important role alongside busy working schedules.
Now back at work, Tracey returns refreshed and ready to continue supporting clients across the sector.
