Training That Builds Confidence
At Good Fundraising, we’ve been busy delivering a range of training sessions to help organisations build skills that strengthen both income generation and internal communication. Whether it’s putting together a solid fundraising plan or handling tough conversations with confidence, our workshops are all about practical tools and real-world application.
Recently, we worked with a local client on a session focused on developing a strategic fundraising plan – giving participants a clear framework to map out where they are now, where they want to be, and how they’ll get the funding to make that journey.
The session covered the core elements of a good plan – from understanding purpose and audience, to linking with wider strategy, analysing current strengths and challenges, and thinking through resources and support. We explored how to set realistic methods, timescales, and targets, and looked at simple ways to monitor progress, communicate effectively, and adapt as needed. Our focus throughout was on keeping it practical. No jargon, just clear steps and tools people could actually use. Everyone left with a structure of a plan they can actually use and build on – and the confidence to take it forward.
We also recently delivered training for another local client on managing difficult conversations – a key skill for any team, especially in emotionally demanding environments. The workshop was designed to be engaging, reflective, and action-focused, giving people space to think about their own experiences and build confidence in how to handle tricky moments at work.
From warm-up icebreakers to group discussions and practical activities, the session explored what makes conversations difficult, why we sometimes avoid them, and how we can prepare for them better. We looked at the common myths that hold people back, introduced a practical framework, and shared a simple three-step approach to help people gain clarity, move past avoidance, and deliver messages with confidence and care.
It was a brilliant, open session with lots of honest discussion, shared experiences, and learning people could take back into their day-to-day roles. Thanks to everyone who took part and made the session such a success.
